When it comes to your wedding music, it’s not just about the first dance song. There are plenty of other times throughout the day when you need the perfect tune to provide accompaniment. If you’re a traditional couple, we have some great suggestions for the soundtrack to your wedding day.

Processional

This piece of music provides the soundtrack for the first moments of your ceremony. It will be the backdrop for the first moment the groom sees the bride on the wedding day, so it’s an important one! For the traditional couple, Pachelbel’s Canon in D is an absolute must.

Recessional

Once the vows have been said and the register signed, it’s time for the bride and groom to walk back down the aisle as Mr and Mrs for the first time. It’s the first piece of music you will enjoy as a married couple, so you want to make sure you pick the right one! We love Handel’s The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba for the more traditional ceremony.

First Dance

We’ve already looked at first dance songs in a previous blog, but it’s such an important song that we’re going to go back to it! This is the song that sums up your relationship with your new husband or wife, so it will take a lot of thought, but one of our favourite traditional first songs has got to be Harry Connick Jr’s It Had to be You.

Last Song

At many wedding receptions, the bride and groom depart before the party is over, leaving their guests to continue celebrating into the night! This means that you get to have the great opportunity of choosing a last dance song before you and your new spouse scoot off for the honeymoon. One song that is sure to keep the rest of your guests dancing into the night is Fleetwood Mac’s Don’t Stop.

Here at The Talent, we are able to provide the perfect soundtrack to your wedding that is sure to wow and impress your guests.
